- tgsovlerkhgsel 4y agoGreat. So there are two different classification systems, DOT and EPA, both using A-D as their classifications, but with entirely different meanings (DOT-B requires an SCBA, i.e. air bottles on your back, while EPA-B only requires an air-purifying respirator aka "gas mask").
