At age 5, I realized that my friends did not understand so many things, that their ideas of who I should be and what I should do were a death trap to be avoided at all costs. Well, the cost was higher than I thought: 71 years of being on the outside, a loner. Did I find anything worth returning? Maybe:
"My mission is to fill my life with successes, episodes of enthusiasm, and burst of joy by seeking richly rewarding emotional and intellectual experiences. I will do this by pursuing activities tending to achieve my core ideals: truth, compassion, and beauty. These ideals are the essential expressions of the otherwise ineffable truth of the human experience."
Well, that's the best I've got. I think I know what it means if no one else does. : )
