I moved to Melbourne, AUS for a year last year (moved back at the start of this year). My purpose was clear, find people to hang out with, and build a more social life. I succeeded. It was all with the help of Meetup, just hanging out at bars with groups lead me to talking to more and more people, and usually afterwards, I'd talk to people outside of Meetups at different bars. This led to gaining friends, and we'd just hit each other up to "hang out". It was the best year of my life due to this "hanging out" so I 100% relate to this whole article.
