The conclusion does not follow from the argument. Yes, (some) humans see the LLM as a person. But it doesn't follow that the LLM sees the human as a person (and how could it, there is no awareness there to see the human as a person). And it also does not follow that you need to be seen (or to have personhood as defined above) to be spiritually special. Yes, some people do "seem to sort of vanish when they are not being seen", but that doesn't mean they do vanish :) > The ability to arbitrarily slip in and out of personhoods will no longer be limited to skilled actors.
