It has a learning curve the same as this tool. Getting an app up and running in k8s is not that difficult and it's a transferable skill.
- angoragoats 4y ago> It has a learning curve the same as this tool. Are you saying that it takes roughly the same amount of effort to learn this tool as it does to learn Kubernetes? If so, please point me to a less than 500 line README file that teaches me how to use all the major features of Kubernetes. Most companies will never be as large as Google, and Kubernetes is massive overkill in the majority of situations where it is used.
- ianpurton 4y agoNo I'm saying if you're going up a learning curve pick the one with the maximum pay off. In this case I believe the time spent learning kubernetes with have a higher pay off.
- angoragoats 4y agoBut shouldn’t you also consider the amount of effort it takes to move up that learning curve? MRSK feels like it would take a day or two to master in its current iteration, and provides a feature set that is great for small to medium sized projects. Kubernetes takes many many months (years?) to master, and is great if your business is the size of Google’s, and arguably overkill otherwise. I know which one I’d like to spend my time learning.
