A total waste of time and effort if they do not require entire teams to be collocated. Why bother driving to an office just to sit on Chime, in an Amazon office, instead of at home? Which is going to mean thousands of people will have to relocate. Many of them will refuse which will translate into a layoff by attrition.

- Insanity 4y agoAll of my partner teams are in a different physical location. I will just spend my days in a phone booth calling people in 2 different continents.
- Root_Denied 4y agoWhat about teams that have a follow the sun model and need to be geographically distributed? For example I'm the only West Coast person on my team, so who exactly would I collaborate with in-office in that scenario? It's clearly an attempt to layoff without paying severance and so they don't take the PR hit of doing layoffs.
