This isn't obvious to me. The idea is to pursue profits above all else, but also that giving people what they want will result in maximal profits. Is giving people what they want insidious?
- lambertsimnel 4y agoI think the concerns about profit maximisation include externalities. For example, if somebody not party to a transaction is harmed by unsafe behaviour, that might not inhibit that behaviour from maximising profit for those who are party to the transaction.
