- jfengel 4y agoThere used to be a saying that politics ends at the water's edge. I haven't heard it in a very long time. It started decaying in perhaps the 1990s. It's nice when people remember it, but it's the exception, not the rule. In fact, that's the reason for an op-ed like this. He's telling his colleagues that he expects them to continue support for Ukraine against Russia, and invoking McCain's name on that. He has to say it, because he knows it's in doubt.
