How to improve your Emotional Intelligence?
Y'all should have realized this by now that a quiet a significant number of Software Engineers have poor emotional intelligence.
Plus lot of developers are dumb and stupid.
They know that they are unskilled and hence they are highly replaceable. This is reflected in their body language.
Hey everyone, please get in here
Let's discuss this important topic.
This is a serious question.
I would like to invite y'all.
Please tell some about incidents that taught you something.
Don't talk about ethnicity and country or religion, otherwise this discuss will get derailed.
- smoldesu 4y ago"Emotional intelligence" is what they put in an Inc article title when the news day is slow. It's something founders and highly-sociable managers stress about, but developers? They're not selling their empathy or soft skills, they're solving an issue. Thousands of construction workers and UPS workers probably also have poor "emotional intelligence", but that doesn't stop them from doing their job effectively. Unless you're particularly sociopathic, there's a good chance your social skills aren't the bottleneck for job performance. I won't derail the conversation from people who want to take a serious stab at it, but I think so-called "emotional intelligence" is a crock.
