Even if/when we get the Blink rendering engine in iOS Chrome, I think Apple will still prohibit access to certain features like Bluetooth if they consider it a security or privacy threat. Are Web Bluetooth, Web USB etc. even considered part of Blink, or are they part of Chromium?
- jeroenhd 4y agoI doubt the legislators that are forcing Apple to open up the browser engine market will be very happy with Chrome being refused Bluetooth access for use in practical, real-world features. As far as I can tell, these APIs are part of Blink. Even if they're not, Chrome/ium will be ported to iOS eventually.
