Ask HN: Visiting Bay Area for the first time
Recommendations on things to do/places to see/people to meet?
- klooney 4y ago- The tourist trap bike ride across the golden gate bridge is great - have a picnic on golden gate park, weather permitting - Don't miss the food scene in Oakland - I like San Mateo too but I think I'm alone in this - Tilden Park is a good day hike in the East Bay - Cheese Board Pizza in Berkeley is excellent. Long lines but they move incredibly fast, so don't worry. Very generous with the slices. - The coast south of San Francisco is very pretty if you have a car to drive down it. Lots of little pretty parks with good views. A bit cold right now for the beach, but there are hikes, and we have some redwoods.

- kleer001 4y agoYou might get more traction with an "Ask:" Additionally without much more direction the best anyone can give won't be bespoke. What are you personal interests?
- jlevett 4y agoThanks! Will do. I’m very interested in healthtech, and would love to explore some of the Valley’s history and visit some cool sites, go on a few hikes, get some good food, and meet other founders at any healthtech or blockchain events.
