With the increases in fees, hassles, cleaning procedures and whatnot, it just doesn't seem either cost effective or convenient to book an Airbnb in the vast majority of circumstances. Most mid-level chain hotel/motels are cheaper, cleaner and more ubiquitous. I'd rather book a $100/night room at a Holiday Inn Express that I don't have to worry about than an Airbnb that comes with a whole host of unknown hassles and fees.
