- metadat 4y agoWhen my dog is thirsty but I don't want him to drink more water because I don't want to get up in the middle of the night to take him out, I give more food instead. He happily eats it every time. The joke around the house is: Are you thirsty? Here, have some saltines.

- metadat 4y agoYeah, I'd like to but the reality is he's getting older and ends up either needing to go out at 2-3am (which eventually takes a heavy toll on my sleep when it's every night) or takes a huge piss in his crate / sleep area, which is then it's own nightmare to deal with. 06:00 AM emergency dog bath, anyone? Thankfully he's getting by fine on reduced evening water access, or happily sleeps outside with unlimited h2o access, weather permitting.
