No matter if there’s a catch somewhere or not, laws like this one are a good thing but I’m sure someone will argue that Australia has no say in what a company from another country can and cannot do with data collected from Australian citizens. If more and more countries start to enforce this kind of regulations we might reach a point where companies have to start treating user data with more care and respect. I know, ain’t gonna happen because money but still, one can dream.
