How could LLMs have awareness of self if they’re not capable of forming new knowledge or metacognition? How can you be conscious if you only exist for a split second at a time - long enough to read and respond to a prompt - then disappear forever? Really think Occam’s razor is useful here. If we define this as consciousness, then it’s a very very different kind than ours.
