Nobody uses HVAC or HVDC. I wonder how much loses incur in conversion from high voltage to normal 220 or 110 V voltage. Else this is comparing apples with oranges.

  all transmission lines use HVAC or HVDC. Transmitting power at lower voltages is much less efficient.
