Now if only the home server can wake it self up on a web request...
- flas9sd 4y agoyes, homeservers do not need to run at all times. I solve this by being able to ssh into the router from WAN via wireguard and sending out wake-on-LAN magic packets. There are also webuis that can do this for you https://github.com/sameerdhoot/wolweb https://github.com/sameerdhoot/wolweb
- jacooper 4y agoI think a better idea would be a proxy that will send a wake-on-lan signal if the end point hasn't been connected to in a certain time frame.
- jacooper 4y agoApparently its possible with Openresty https://serverfault.com/questions/948283/from-nginx-wake-another-server-and-redirect-request-to-it https://serverfault.com/questions/948283/from-nginx-wake-ano... And Caddy using a plugin https://github.com/dulli/caddy-wol https://github.com/dulli/caddy-wol
