At least the current nationalist Hindu government are authoritarian anti-democratic almost fascists, using democracy to reduce the rights of others and block competition. The us is not without our own groups trying to keep others from voting. And although the US strives to be a democracy for all, we were historically and to a good extent today are very racist. But the imperfections of my own country doesn't prevent me pointing out problems in other countries, and it goes the other way too.
