Not sure if this is going to happen or not.
It would need to become significantly cheaper to run in order to decrease prices.
My prediction is, that they will start offering specialized applications. ChatGPT for marketing, chatGPT for coding, ... and they will have different prices because the perceived value will differ.
They literally have all the data they need for that because they just had 100 million user show them what they use it for.
- muzani 4y agoOpenAI lowered prices for their GPT-3 products by 1/3 just because the costs went down. So I have good faith that they'll pass on savings for other products like ChatGPT when the time comes. Specialized applications might be something the community builds, paid or not, as it requires some subject matter expertise. Sure, they made Copilot/Codex but they're subject matter experts in programming. Data alone might not be enough. I mean it does storytelling fine, but the stories fall flat because it doesn't understand the nuances of writing stories. Same goes for marketing and so on.
