Maybe they know something I don't, but Walmart doesn't strike me as the kind of company or location that a lot of good talent would go back to the office for. The decision to close the hubs at least makes some sense; exactly how much technology has Walmart been getting out of them?
- DigitalGeppetto 4y agoIt's not the kind of company great talent would have chosen in the first place. However, their best talent will be allowed to continue working remotely so they don't leave.
- benced 4y agoEspecially for Bensenville
- porknubbins 4y agoI think Walmart was one of the first to roll out real time inventory tracking/ tagging. In my experience big distopian megacorps are pretty enthusiastic on tech.
- Consultant32452 4y agoIf you have any interest in supply chain or logistics, Walmart would be among the top places in the world to work.

- myrandomcomment 4y agoI am in tech. I have had Walmart as a customer. Their use of technology is amazingly complex and challenging. They are on the bleeding edge on a number of things. Just because they do not look like Amazon publicly, does not mean they are not privately.
- foobazzy 4y agoI know that Walmart Labs India office is good. A quick internet search gives me these things. And their tech is interesting in some ways. Edit: formatting
- lkrubner 4y agoFor awhile, starting around 2016, they poured money into an attempt to compete with Amazon. Not just compete, but get ahead of Amazon. They wanted to invent a 3D online retail experience, sort of like what Facebook started to do, but specific to retail. I was offered a job at the New Jersey office. They offered me $225, back in 2016, which is good and was very good for 2016. But now I suspect they've given up on the effort.
- NDizzle 4y agoStill happening I believe. Data scientist roles are around 260.
- ravagat 4y agoThat's a little harsh, there's a lot of industries/niches that Walmart has stake and/or operate in that would require "good talent".
