I had this exact problem for passwords and random to-dos about six months ago. I ended up writing an app for it: http://yellownote.info http://yellownote.info It's like OS X sticky notes (mentioned elsewhere in this thread, which I also love) for the web. There's an iPhone interface for it too. (sorry to self-promote, but it's relevant to the discussion)
