Greg’s “Devs and Depression” talk many years back was a light in the middle of a very dark period of time in my life. Having followed some of Greg’s work when I was doing developer relations, this particular post hit me closer to home than most, and is just another reminder of the caliber of people impacted by these cuts. When I voluntarily left my job last year to refocus on my mental health for awhile, it was one of the harder decisions to make and I was an emotional wreck throughout the process. Having this happen suddenly is something I'm grateful I haven't yet experienced. Posts like this are a good reminder of just how personal many of these layoffs are for people, and I have nothing but empathy for everyone going through this right now.
