Same guy posts a lot of information about the topics on his website[1] as well. For anyone who isn't anti dotNet for various reasons such as being from Microsoft I recommend giving F# a try, it is a very nice language.

- jjtheblunt 4y agoSame guy? Not I: i have no website. Totally agree: i think folks dont realize F# is modernized OCaml and this is approximately a typed Lisp semantically. Very useful.
- runevault 4y agoSorry meant the writer of the book.
- jjtheblunt 4y agooh duh makes sense. yep, agree.
- octachron 4y agoI am not sure how F# which started as a .NET version of early OCaml 3 can be seen as a modernized OCaml 5? Even more so when F# has to give up on some OCaml core feature in the transition (before growing in its own language of course).
- jjtheblunt 4y agoforked then modernized probably fits better, i agree
- runevault 4y agoYeah OCaml 5 seems like a different beast with the new concurrency system plus the new effects system etc. If they get a good windows install experience I want to try it out at some point but seems it is recommended currently to go through WSL or msys/cygwin (I forget which) and at this moment I'm not motivated enough to go through the hoops.
