I’ve actually had the opposite experience. I had clients that suspected their software/processes/org were a steaming pile of garbage - ie the business folk saw long cycle times, high amount of bugs and wanted to bring in a consultant to get a second opinion (yes, in most cases confirm). It was a tough job to do fairly because as an engineer our natural inclination is to miss the context and only see the bad.
