Oregon officials kept popular booze for themselves, diverting it from public
- legitster 4y agoI used to run down to Oregon to pick up $25 bottles of Weller Special Reserve. The savings on a case would easily make up for the cost of gas from Seattle. These days you are lucky to find a bottle. Part of the issue here is that the bourbon market has gone stupid. And Buffalo Trace nobley refuses to change their MSRP or recipe to meet demand. I'm all for cheap and fair access to consumer goods, but this seems to be a clear example where an artificially cheap market for limited resources doesn't solve any scarcity problems but definitely leads to corruption.
