I think lots of people that try to think deeply about the implications of AI realize the dangers it poses to society, trust, etc. The most dangerous bunch though to me seem to be the people that overgeneralize and say things like "there's always been inequality, any progress comes with some downsides, horse owners wanted to stop cars, etc.". We can control, direct and regulate technology, but first we really need to believe this.
