I think understanding these jailbreaks give us a much deeper insight into the actual “comprehension” of these models. From a research perspective, this is fascinating
- colechristensen 4y agoHaving played with a few models untuned and unpolished as products has really cemented the idea that “comprehension” in them is essentially zero. Really big statical models for the next word does not make for comprehension as I would define it. What they are capable of is quite surprising but the mechanism behind it seems more like being good at predicting dice throws than any kind of comprehension.
