A strange choice. All the 25 operating nuclear reactors in South Korea are pressurized water reactors (PWR). All 3 of the reactors under construction are also PWR. The further 2 proposed reactors are PWR. South Korea has roughly zero experience with Molten Salt Reactors. And of course, zero experience with marine reactors.
The pragmatic choice would be to try to mount PWRs on ships, not MSRs. They apparently secured some design approval from the American Bureau of Shipping, which makes you wonder if they'll need one from the (US) Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Which I don't see coming any time soon, or at least not before the NRC approves MSRs for land based power plants.
