this tech is bad. awful. only worth for casual games which are already well served by comon hardware localy.
its all a ruse to try to sell idle capacity for their gpu farms because AI model training hype never materialized
- 0-_-0 4y agoI tried geforce now, it's amazing, lag is almost imperceptible with the 8ms ping I had.
- Gigachad 4y agoI also tried it on a gigabit network and it was essentially unusable. Constant frame drops and audio stuttering. Even for casual gaming it was horrible. Can't imagine something multi player.
- nottorp 4y agoYou talking about your local network or your internet connection? It works just fine(tm) on the two fiber connections i've tried, one 500 mbps only, not 1 gbps. It only uses like 10 mbps for 1080. It's the latency and packet loss that kills you, it's unusable on wifi going though the same fiber for example.
- arecurrence 4y agoThere’s a lot of bad networks out there. I won a number of Fortnite battle royals testing this and it was rock solid 120 fps, barely any detectable latency at the 10 ms ping I was getting. The lack of noise actually made me prefer it over my gaming box. It’s a real home run for people fortunate enough to have excellent network connections to nvidia’s data centres.
- 0-_-0 4y agoDid you have a gigabit wired connection to the server?
