Today's Kernel Upstreaming Nightmare
- remram 4y agoIs this "drive-by reviewer" someone important? Or a rando on the list?
- koverstreet 4y agoIt does seem like there've been more self important randos in the past few years - they give the most arrogant, presumptuous review feedback, but then you go and look and they've got 10 or 20 commits to their name. Just something to watch for.
- atomicUpdate 4y agoTrying to upstream anything to the kernel is such a test of patience that rather than being glad a feature/fix has landed, I’m just happy for it to be over with. The Linux tooling and community is just not worth dealing with.
- Jasper_ 4y agoOf course it's the network subsystem. I've heard nothing but terrible stories from colleagues that have had to interact with those maintainers.
