Why are we okay with experimenting on rats but not on monkeys?
- shortcake27 4y agoThe same reason it’s ok to eat pigs but not dogs. Humans place animals into fictional categories which dictate the acceptable level of abuse that is allowed to be inflicted upon the animal.
- colechristensen 4y agoIt’s not fictional. If there are degrees of awareness, a pig is much more aware than a rat.
- dunefox 4y ago> If there are degrees of awareness, a pig is much more aware than a rat. And your source for this preposterous statement is...? Rats are extremely intelligent and social animals.
- audiometry 4y agoHow will you or anyone ever be able to know this… just because you cannot perceive it, you assume it cannot exist?
- Tozen 4y agoThen, per argument of previous person, why eat pigs and not dogs (though some countries make exceptions)? Why eat cows, but not horses?
- colechristensen 4y agoI’ve eaten horse. Cows taste better and are easier to raise.
- fatjokes 4y agoThey're also more intelligent than dogs yet we prefer to eat one.
