- prepend 4y agoThe article doesn’t cover about the growth in psychedelics. Does the UK allow psychedelics as part of religious ceremony?
- hulitu 4y agoOnly if you are a member of the government.
- mensetmanusman 4y agoGoing from zero to one is infinite perfect growth.
- strbean 4y agoSame phenomenon happened with Zoroastrianism in the US in the 2000s (?), growing from around 6,000 adherents to 15,000.
- DieBruderBauer 4y agoMost of them came from Iran and India however…
- _lnwk 4y agoCan you even become a Zoroastrian? I've always heard it's a religion that doesn't allow conversions.
- strbean 4y agoInteresting, I didn't know that! I always assumed it was new-age trends increasing the number. Immigration makes more sense I guess.
- labrador 4y agoThis is a topic of interest to me so I'm about halfway thru this video, where Mr Winkelman tries to pin down an accurate definition of shamans. He distinguises between Shamans, Clairvoyants, Mediums, Magicians, etc... I don't know if he's going off the deep end in the second half, but so far very interesting Psychedelics and Culture, MOD3, What is Shamanism? - Interview with anthropologist Michael Winkelman https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uK4EMF2LtBI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uK4EMF2LtBI

- lumiukko 4y agoShamanism is not a religion by itself, but more like a practice or type of religious expression. Many past religions practiced shamanism or had shamanic rituals.
