Even an authentic video clip can be a pile of misinformation, and to me the impact of deliberate misinformation is a lot scarier than a deepfake that has a fairly good chance of being quickly provable as fake by Internet sleuths examining the pixels. But the cure to both deepfakes and lying/incompetent media is one and the same: promote this rule to everybody you know: literally everything you see should be considered bullshit until you verify it from multiple sources.
