Yes I find this point unconvincing too. I do not think elm is intimidating, lots of FE devs jumped on its bandwagon and it’s considered easy to learn. If it’s true that it is, the syntax seems like the last thing people would find intimidating about elm, or haskell. The intimidating part would be the programming model. Reason basically started with that premise that syntax is a problem to solve and we saw how successful it turns out.
