Afaik the surfboard was invented in pre-european contact Hawaii, sometime between ~1100-1700.
- scheme271 4y agoAlthough those surfboards were radically different from the ones now. They were huge, really heavy (200+ lbs) and had no fins. I think they were probably only really good for riding the wave straight in.
