Dumb q: Is authenticated USB-C still USB-C? Does the spec allow it? Provide for it? Not care?
- znpy 4y agoMost likely no. I wonder if apple could be brought to court over this (i hope so).
- dogma1138 4y agoMost definitely yes, as long as the device can be charged over a type-c port that is all that is required to meet the regulation. There is absolutely no requirement for interoperability for things like fast charging or even supporting actual USB specs like PD.
