I had a similar feeling. I think it's because XML relatives HTML and SGML (GML anyone?) go so much further back.

I had a similar feeling. I think it's because XML relatives HTML and SGML (GML anyone?) go so much further back.
- butlerm 4y agoHTML was invented in 1993, which is not that much further back. GML was invented in 1969, and SGML in 1986. I guess you could say that HTML resembles GML quite a bit with the addition of angle brackets and urls. XML on the other hand is basically SGML with a number of optional features left out.
