It's not just irl people. In fact, strangers can be even more potentially dangerous.
That's what would stop me from sharing my salary openly. Actually thinking about it more I wouldn't be worried about friends/family knowing at all.

- lotsofpulp 4y agoEveryone knows doctors in the US earn a few hundred thousand per year, since I was a kid. They seem to be surviving just fine. I don’t think anyone’s pay is very secret anyway. Based on employer, house location, cost of house, job title, it is pretty deducible to the ranges that indicate quality of life and potential savings.
