I think this sentiment is misplaced. Both Google and MS are about to rewire their businesses in a more than superficial way to accomodate this kind of 'search'. Yes - a lazy incumbency won't want to adjust their algorithms - but MS will force their hand. ChatGPT is a bit like what we always imagined or wanted out of Siri and it represents a new dimension of quality interaction. Google was 'search' really now it's 'finder' chatGPT is like 'helper' and they will be a bit fused. The challenge is going to be how can Google remain true to search and find, whilst overlaying 'interactive helper'.
