How does it compare to oh my zsh?

• steelbrain 4y ago
Anecdote: I started with oh my zsh and moved over to prezto. One thing that immediately struck me with prezto is just how fast it was. The shell boot up was instant, I don't know what oh my zsh was doing but it would take a while before it became interactive. I didn't care enough to dig deep into the why, but have happily been stuck on prezto for the last few years.

I transitioned from oh-my-zsh to prezto a few years back and really liked it. Equal or better in every way, sometimes much better (speed and customization in particular, prezto is fast and guides you to customize in maintainable ways)

I used ohmyzsh but it somehow got slow, so i switched to zpretzo. It didn't get slow. So that's my comparison :)
