As a dumb person with too much money, I avoided Steam Deck and instead went for a slightly more powerful and perhaps 4 times as expensive gaming laptop with AMD CPU and GPU. I installed Nobara Linux[0] on it and everything has been pretty much perfect.
Certainly I have to thank Steam for making all this work so well. Just a year ago things were in a much worse shape. If I was in this situation again, I would certainly save a thousand+ euros and get a Steam Deck instead.
