I have one and I got to say: I'm blown away.
After I got one, I 100% one game (Vampire Survivors), am close to another one (Hades) and have been playing here and there almost every day.
I bought both a PS5 and an Xbox Series X after 2021 but, despite having them for over 1 year each, I think I already played my Deck in 2 months way more hours.
The way that it instantly boots up in your game, ready to go, is amazing. If I'm frustrated with some programming task at work, for example, I pick it up, fire Hades, play for 1 or 2 stages for 5 minutes and my brain is reset.
It is not perfect, obviously. It is bigger in person than it looks on pictures or videos, specially with the case (it takes 30% of a backpack, for example). The battery lasts very little on demanding games. When putting on a TV or monitor, the lower resolution will show. When plugging it in, you don't really get any boosts.
However, it is such a great experience overall. I was playing very little because I never wanted to go to the sofa, turn the console on, stay seated, wait for it to power, etc... With the Steam Deck, I'm in and out in literal seconds, anywhere.
I bought one truly expecting to barely play it like I was playing my consoles, but the opposite happened.
I truly thing that the Steam Deck is the start of a new era. I can't wait for the Deck 2, the "Linux" console likes and such. I'm sold.
