Why? Because HN people actually like it?

Go check Steam Deck reviews on reddit, steam forums, reviews, Youtube reviews. The Internet is full of disgruntled users. I have been in tech long enough to know, this will be another device forgotten in 2 years and make it to landfill in less than 5.

You have to add context to it. Steamdeck is imho no device for your grandma or any non-tech savy user. (Even in this i am not sure anymore for basic gaming.) HN is a site full of very tech savy users. That is the reason why people here like it very much, because they are able to work out the kinks. So screaming "marketing bots" is not fair, is it? I am not sure about the future of Steamdeck on the broad market, but i believe it's strong step in a good direction.

I am not screaming marketing bots. Another commenter pointed that out, and I wouldn't rule it out. It is a possibility I can entertain. But not really screaming marketing bots. I think it is headline-bias. I don't know if it is the right word for it. The positive headline attracts the people who think positively about it.
