When Instagram launched Reels two months later, Madaan took it on as his primary outlet and has since grown his following to more than 600,000. It’s enough to keep him in the public eye but less than a tenth of the audience he had on TikTok. The TikTok stats always seemed a bit fishy to me, it seems like pumping up the numbers would be a good way to get people to keep using the platform. Does anyone know of any studies around this? I suppose it would be next to impossible to prove anything. Maybe if we could get major ISPs or even just the cellular companies to release overall bandwidth info, and do some rough math to see how many videos are being downloaded.
