Any other GCP customers feeling nervous? Is GCP stand-alone profitable now, or if Google takes an e.g. 50% hit in advertising revenue are we going to see services being killed off?
- neysofu 4y agoKilling GCP would be so stupendously, incredibly short-sighted. I hope there's no truth to the reports and internal leaks from 2019.

- bushbaba 4y agoGcp isn’t stand alone profitable. They stated such in their earnings that Cloud (including workspaces with a low operating cost) is not profitable
- jsnell 4y agoYou've got it the wrong way around, no? If ads revenue takes a hit, non-ads businesses like Cloud become more important, not less.
- jldugger 4y agoAnd as a GCP customer, you might be worried that GCP prices will go up to make those all important revenue targets, or that some of the lowest engagement GCP services will be EOL'd.
- dr_kiszonka 4y agoOr that the quality of, e.g., customer support will decrease, like it has been the case with Google Fi, in my experience.
