As I said in another thread, what makes this dubious is that YIMBYs are already home owners. Sure, the rental stock needs to get up to an acceptable level where renting one side of a two bedroom duplex isn't $3.5k/month, but I'm understandably more concerned with helping people build generational wealth. At the very least, I'd expect YIMBYs to be championing both, but many of them are specifically against home ownership while owning homes.
