Do politicians ever admit they were wrong? I would expect jail time for policy makers, but politicians are untouchable caste.

- GuB-42 4y agoNot following scientific studies from the future is not a crime. Policymakers did what they could with what we know of covid back then. And even in hindsight, they weren't particularly wrong. Not perfect, certainly, but facepalm-level wrong, I don't think so.
- slaw 4y agoWhat is covid and who is affected was known from the very begging. I am sorry you didn't pay attention or were blinded by media.
- GuB-42 4y agoI actually paid a lot of attention and research was all over the place. Some of it right, some of it wrong, but we only know that in hindsight. I tried hard making sense of all of it, but the only thing that prevailed was a big fat "we don't know". We knew older people were more at risk, it is one of the few thing that we were confident about since the beginning, and no one argued against it, and policymakers took that into account. But it doesn't mean others can't die or transmit the disease. We also didn't know how it would evolve.
