Universities should just pick camps and clearly proclaim which side they are on. If you want to do critical theory studies at a university which doesn't believe in objective truth you pick a University on that side.
If you want to study areospace engineering, or biology you go to one of the schools on team objective truth exists.
Or I guess you could do an electrical engineering at the objective truth doesn't exist university although I have a feeling enrollment might not be that high.
This process would be self correcting based on the quality of output of those universities over time.
- ttyprintk 4y agoSo, with “disintegration” in the title, that’s what the author is expecting. Some departments which used to have a profitable relationship with hungry philosophers might miniaturize a philosophy organelle. Quantum physics, music and art, for example. I think this is what he means by returning to pre-Enlightenment.

- alsaaro 4y agoAt an academic symposium somewhere someone said something silly, now we must bifurcate our universities; perhaps our queer theorist is right, objectivity has truly been deconstructed.
