ArsDigita University: Lectures & courseware from intensive MIT CS program
- nosignal 15y agoIt seems most videos are available on Google Video if you (like me) had forgotten that RealPlayer even existed: http://www.google.com/search?q=Arsdigita&tbo=p&tbm=vid&source=vgc http://www.google.com/search?q=Arsdigita&tbo=p&tbm=v... (Allegedly VLC can play RealPlayer, but it wasn't working for me.)
- ramblerman 15y agoThis looks really interesting. Anybody have experience with these courses?
- hng 15y ago"Theory of Computation" is quite good.
- arikrak 15y agoTheir theory courses are one of the only good resources on the web on the topic (though I found it quicker to just read the textbook).
- nosignal 15y agoI've just watched two of them (8: Data Structures from SICP & Graph Algorithms from Algorithms) and enjoyed them. The format of the videos is nothing special (camcorder on a tripod at the back of the room), but the teachers are very good, presenting complex subjects clearly. The videos alone seem an excellent reference & resource. The accompanying materials (handouts etc) are sparse but good accompaniments. The courses were taught assuming reference to a textbook, so they're not 100% self-contained.
- pooriaazimi 15y agoI watched the "AI" course about a year ago. 4 lectures, each about an hour and half. They were very good, and I strongly suggest watching them (if you aren't already familiar with AI).
- arikrak 15y agoSome of their videos are available on this YouTube channel: http://www.youtube.com/coderisland http://www.youtube.com/coderisland
- dlevine 15y agoThis was Hacker School ten years before Hacker School. Sure, the methods of instruction were a bit different, but the overall purpose was similar.
- hackNightly 15y agoThis is fantastic. I'm glad that there are such detailed resources available for guys like me who want to get a thorough understanding of topics like these, but didn't go to MIT or comparable schools. Thanks for the link.
- pm90 15y agothis is where I learnt Theory of Computation from; I'll especially recommend Shai Simonson's lectures, that guy is absolutely brilliant
