If I ever have to create a UI for the desktop - and I'm making something on the more basic side - I'm looking at flutter. It covers too many platforms to not be considered as a solution. Target desktop, web, ios, android all in one codebase? Put a django-rest framework behind it and you can then just focus on the actual problem you're trying to solve. I'd be able to get it to market - find out what to improve after that. For anything more complex then you need to do your homework.
